Is stuff like this supposed to happen in my backyard???

Jeremy calls me last night on his way home from work to inform me that he can't get down our road because there is a SWAT team and men in camouflage with guns. I walk down the road to talk to some neighbors who have no idea what is happening either. Luckily Jeremy was able to get home down another road just before they closed everything off. A police car comes literally screeching down our road and two cops jump out yelling at everyone to get into their houses because someone has barricaded themselves inside their house and he has powerful rifles. Regan is bawling by now riding her little bike home as fast as she can and then she hides under her bed until I can convince her that she is safe.
As we are sitting in our house, we get a knock on the door and a phone call from police telling us to stay inside and away from windows!! The cop even tells Jeremy, "you have brick on your house so you should be fine!"...HELLLO!!!!!!Yes, the standoff in little old Perry, UT was in my neighborhood.
Here are some pictures I took from my kitchen window (the ones with the cops standing by the fence and the house)......there were cops jumping fences and running through backyards!! It was crazy!! I have the story I copied from an online newspaper. Happy that everything ended well and there were no shots fired!!

Armed standoff in Perry ends peacefully
PERRY -- A 51-year-old man who lives across the street from the Perry Police Department surrendered peacefully Friday night after keeping authorities at bay for more than two hours in a tense, armed standoff.
Around 6:30 p.m., Walter Reavis, who lives at 1190 W. 3000 South, exited his small, white, wood-frame home, put his hands in the air and calmly gave himself up to camouflaged Brigham City Metro SWAT Team members.
Reavis, who reportedly has from diabetes, was placed in handcuffs and whisked away by ambulance to Brigham City Community Hospital, said Perry Police Sgt. Brian Millaway.
Information about Reavis' medical condition was not available Friday night.
Charges could be filed against Reavis, said Millaway, who expressed gratitude that no shots were fired and no one was injured.
The drama began around 4:30 p.m. Friday when Reavis' wife, who was not identified, ran from her home and contacted a Perry police officer who was making a traffic stop several blocks away.
The woman told the officer her husband was upset over a family dispute and was threatening violence with firearms inside the house.
"He was threatening to shoot anyone who came around," Millaway said, recalling what the woman told the officer.
Police quickly cordoned off 3000 South and sent in the SWAT team, which set up a perimeter at each corner of the house, Millaway said.
At one point during the standoff, an armed personnel carrier capable of carrying four police officers rumbled up the road toward Reavis' house.

The carrier, acquired by the SWAT team about six years ago from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, can also be used to deliver cell phones and provisions that can assist in negotiations with armed suspects, said Lt. Dennis Vincent, of the Brigham City Police Department.
SWAT team members were able to negotiate with Reavis through a loudspeaker placed in front of his house, Millaway said.
Reavis made no demands and did not brandish any weapons during the siege, but firearms were found inside the house afterward, Millaway said.

My tap dance recital at 20 weeks pregnant!!

Okay, so I debated about whether or not to post this, but then I thought what the heck. I have been doing an adult tap dance class (which I have NEVER done) since October of last year. I wanted to try something new and I thought this was the ticket. I have loved every minute...even when I found out I was pregnant. I was NOT going to do the recital being 20 weeks along and I finally decided that I would be disappointed in myself if I did not because it was the final bang after all I had worked for. So yes, I was HUGE on stage and yes, I loved it!!! So although I look funny, I had to post the pictures to give you all the idea.

So I am really slow at blogging. Last night was a big night for my little Regan. Yes...she did it!! She graduated from preschool. It was a pretty big deal for these little 5 year olds. It was so fun to watch and I am so proud of her. She is growing up so fast. She is anxious for Kindergarten.
