Kindergarten fun.....read on....

Regan FINALLY got to start Kindergarten today. I wish I could say it was your "normal" first day of school, but does anything "normal" happen to me.....not usually. The morning started off "normal" I guess you could say but by the time it was time to get ready we were already running late. I finally loaded Regan and Daxton in the car and headed to the bus stop (heaven forbid Regan NOT riding the bus....she was more excited about the bus than school). I rounded the corner to the bus stop only to realize the bus was already ahead of us and we were racing to get to the bus stop before we missed it. All was well there in the end, I jumped out of the car, grabbed Regan and told Daxton to stay in the car while I got Regs on the bus. Gathered with all the other moms (some of which were crying....I have NO idea why) we watched all the kiddos load onto the bus and I snapped a picture and watched the bus pull away. As I am turning to go back to my car, I notice the car is slowly moving toward me....YES my darling 3 year old has climbed out of his seat belt, into the front seat and put the car into drive....!!! I was driving our older car that Jeremy usually uses for car pool and as I go to grab the door....I realize it is locked!! Yes, the stupid car doors lock automatically when the car is put into drive. So there I am 8 1/2 months pregnant jogging along side the card yelling at Daxton to "open the doors". I guess I should count myself lucky because he somehow managed to get the car back into park which jolted the car to a stop and then he unlocked the doors. Well I wish I could say that was it, but as I am driving home still shaking from the whole ordeal I remember I am supposed to go visiting teaching right then so I pull up to my partners house and pick her up. We drive to the first persons house and I put the car in park, take out the keys, put on the park break and we head into the house. So this sweet lady does not live on a flat piece of ground, her driveway is very steep but why would that worry me?? Well, we are standing in the doorway with Daxton and he says he is going to play on the lawn (which is normally does at her house). We continue on with our lovely message and chat and turn to leave and I notice that my car which was once in the driveway is now backed across the road and the back tires are up over the curb.....need I say more?? Daxton had quietly climbed back into the car WITHOUT KEYS and WITH THE PARK BREAK ON and still managed to shift the stupid car into reverse....I can gratefully say no one was injured in my 3 year old's joy rides, but he now knows if he EVER moves the car again...he gets to go talk to the nice policeman who live at the top of our street. So if any of you think you have a crazy 3 year old, give me a call. It might make me feel better. Whew!! What a nice first day of school...
